2016 Family fun fair. It was an interesting family program organized by Global Initiative for Proper Parenting. The aim of the event was to create a platform where parents and their children would be together and learn. The second aim was to encourage family unity while the third aim was to create more awareness on health issues like family nutrition, HIV/AiDs, malaria and Tuberculosis.We talked to them about the need for proper Parenting, talked about health management, HIV, Tuberculosis and malaria prevention in particular. A dietitian was on ground to give a lecture on family nutrition.There were free HIV testing and counseling, free malaria testing and free anti malaria drugs to participants who tested positive to malaria. There were free distribution of long lasting insecticidal nets. All the health support came through the Anambra State Ministry of Health.
During the event, the Director's second book 'Parenting Issues vol2 was unveiled and launched. We had dance performances and family game which the winning families went home with wonderful gift items. We had over one thousand participants.
